Amateur Development International Contest aka GP32 ADIC 2002




Rules of admission
  • Any person who has the amateur development kit available free on www.gameparkdev.co.kr and registering from the 5 of september 2002 is eligible, or any other tool alowing you to develop, like gcc for exemple. It is not obliged to own a GP32.

  • The admission is individual. In case of a group, one person only represents all the others. One person can present several projects.

  • Are not eligible :
    The members of the jury and their families
    The developers using the Gamepark's professional development kit
    The Gamepark employees and their famillies.

  • Entry is free.

  • To register, the form must be filled at http://www.adic2002.com and you will receive a unique registration number to keep for all correspondences. You have to register once per project (2 projects = 2 registration).

  • Registration will close the 31st of october.



Rules to return the projects
  • The project will have to be sent between the 1st and the 10th of november 2002 0h01 GMT, via e-mail to adic2002@gamepark.com



General rules
  • The software will have to be in fxe format, and the external files /usefull to the software will have to be in a folder GPMM\<registration number>. The fpk archives will obviously be authorised.
    Exemple : GPMM\SJ1_000 (in majuscule)

  • The software will have this name <registration number>.fxe
    Exemple : GPMM\sj1_000.fxe (in minuscule)

  • The total size (software + data without the sources) must no exceed the 8Mo (8388608 octets) + 5%

  • The rights of the project are owned by the author, except in some case of ports of GPL programs or other open source lisences requiring the sources to be available (For more information, please read carefully the readme.txt included in the sources of the project your are willing to port).

  • The author must not use copyrighted/ripped elements in his program.(Graphic elements / musics, etc,...) The autor can adapt a program if he's not the author himself of this program, but the notation will be based on his work to port it.

  • All communication between the participants and the organizers will be in english and via e-mail to the address specified.

  • The subject will be available at the planned date at 0h00 GMT on the website of the competition ADIC.

  • The prizes cannot be replaced by other objects of the same value or by money.

  • In case you do a port, the original version of the sources of the program you port will have to be send in a separated zip or rar archive in the same mail of your project. (if it’s a port of a win32 version, the the win32 sources will have to be sent)

  • There is not a special cathegory for ports, so if you port a game, it will be registered as game, if you port an emu, it will be registered as a utility.

  • The project can be the continuation of a project already available, even if the author is not the original author of the program (in case if the program is opensource).

  • In the mail when you send us your program, you will have to put seral indications in the mail body: You have to tell us if it’s a port, what cathegory (in case you’ve changed your mind since the registration), and your registration number.

  • A FAQ system will be put in place to clarify the rules and sujects. It will be possible to ask questions in writting to faq@adic2002.com

  • Releasing demo version of the program to the public is authorised, using a already distributed program is also authorised but only if you make significant changes on it. (like adding levels for a game, optimising, and so on)

  • All reprehensible contents will not be authorised (pedophily, racism,...)



Notation
  • The notation will be done on clarity / optimisation of the code, as well as the graphic and sound aspect of the program.

  • The notation will be done by 2 members of the website gp32news.com, 2 specialized journalists, 2 Gamepark employees and 2 professional developpers. The list of the jury will be available ASAP.

  • The jury is composed of 8 people :

    Interest (ex. Reuseable) on 100 points
    Clarity of the code on 50 points
    Optimisation of the code on 100 points
    Originality on 150 points
    Tester’s feeling on 250 points

    Interest on 400 points
    Clarity of the code on 50 points
